The “Big 4” Base Weight

EVERY OUNCE COUNTS

When hiking, weight is an issue!

Every ounce counts and those ounces go on your back…

Those ounces can attribute to mechanical injuries…

Most people are unaware of their base weights…

Most backpacking enthusiasts break base weight down into the “BIG 3…”

However, I choose to list it as the “BIG 4…”

THE “BIG 4” (or better put my BIG 4 base-weight)
1) BACKPACK | Modified ZPACKS ARC BLAST 2015 | 22.0 oz   (1.375 lb)

2) SHELTER | ZPACKS DUPLEX – CAMO 2016 | 22.5 oz  (1.406 lb)

3) SLEEPING BAG | ZPACKS 10 degree Down Quilt 2016 | 26.7 oz  (1.668 lb)

4) SLEEPING MAT | EXPED SynMat 7 | 16.0 oz (1 lb)

TOTAL  for the “BIG 4”  |  87.2 oz  (5.45 lb)
